Island stand, half finished and half framed, with one unmeasured red beam: AI booth design tools

The AI tools that take a stand from brief to render to drawings a builder can quote.

This guide sorts AI booth design tools and tool chains by what they hand a stand builder, from prompt to render to drawings. Each entry says what the tool makes and what you still add. You also get the quote-readiness checklist and a builder test to run with your own builders.

A stand is finished when a builder can price it from the drawings, not when the render looks good. This guide sorts AI booth design tools and tool chains by what they hand a builder, from prompt to render to drawings. It uses each maker's own documentation. It ends with a test you can run with your own builders.

What a stand builder needs to quote

A builder prices drawings, not renders. This quote-readiness checklist sets the bar for every tool below.

  • Dimensioned plan: Footprint, walls, openings, counter and storage sizes
  • Elevations: At least two, with heights to the top of every element
  • Heights: The maximum, against the hall's limit
  • Materials and finishes: Named for every surface
  • Graphic sizes: Every panel, with print dimensions
  • Power: Sockets, lighting and the supply needed
  • Rigging: Every hanging element and its points

What your stand builder needs from you has the full list.

How this list is ordered

Each entry says what the tool or chain is built to make and which checklist items it can cover. It also says what you still have to add. The facts come from each maker's public pages, read in October 2026. The order runs from tools that give drawings to tools that give only images, then graphics. It is not a ranking. Monet makes the first tool, so put it through the same test as the others.

The AI booth design tools

1. Monet

Monet generates the stand from a prompt and places it to scale on the hall plan. Renders and a walkthrough video show it in the real room. Production-ready plans and elevations come from the same source, so the render and the drawings cannot drift apart. Checks for temporary structures in the main walkway and noise on nearby booths re-run after every change. One change regenerates the plan, the renders and the drawings. Exports go out as DWG, DXF, PDF, JPG and GLB, which open in a builder's own CAD.

Monet has limits. It does not add custom objects such as signage or props. It does not produce a materials take-off, which is the itemized list of materials a builder prices. And it renders from its own views rather than a view you set. So name the finishes, power and rigging yourself before you send the package.

2. SketchUp, AI Render and LayOut

This is the chain many studios already use. You model in SketchUp, render with SketchUp AI Render and draw in LayOut. AI Render was once called Diffusion. It turns the model into images from a text prompt, with reference images and inpainting. LayOut turns the same model into dimensioned sheets, and it comes with SketchUp Pro and Studio. The chain gives total control and any custom object. The cost is hours of modeling, plus several files to keep in step.

3. Chaos Veras on a SketchUp or Revit model

Veras renders the designer's own geometry with AI, so the render follows the model. It runs inside SketchUp, Revit and other modeling apps. Drawings still come from the CAD side. Check that the AI has not added details the model does not contain, because a builder will price what the client saw.

4. D5 Render on the same model

D5 Render renders the model in real time, with AI tools for scene mood and materials. It suits a designer who already models every stand. Like Veras, it makes no drawings, so the plan and elevations come from your CAD. The guide to AI rendering tools for events and exhibitions covers renderers in more depth.

5. Vizcom

Vizcom turns a designer's sketch into a render. Its roots in industrial design suit counters and display units. It can also turn a sketch into a 3D model and export it as GLB, OBJ or FBX. Its pages describe renders and models, not dimensioned plans or elevations. So agree the look in Vizcom, then draw the stand in CAD.

6. Midjourney

Midjourney gives range and atmosphere from a text prompt, also without dimensions. Proportions can shift between images of the same stand. Monet vs Midjourney for event renders compares the two directly.

7. Adobe Firefly for graphics

Adobe Firefly suits the graphic panels, such as the demo wall and the fascia, the branded panel along the top edge. Generative Expand stretches artwork to the backwall's proportions. Generative Fill handles retouching. Check the resolution at full print size against the printer's spec. Check the terms for commercial use on the day you generate.

Some makers of stand systems now offer AI configurators that output geometry for their own frames. They design within one maker's system. That suits a modular stand and rules out anything outside it.

What each tool hands the builder

  • Monet. What it hands over: Plan, elevations, renders, walkthrough video, DWG, DXF, PDF, JPG and GLB. Drawings from the same model as the renders: Yes.
  • SketchUp, AI Render, LayOut. What it hands over: Model, AI renders and LayOut sheets. Drawings from the same model as the renders: Yes, if you keep the files in step.
  • Veras on SketchUp or Revit. What it hands over: AI renders of your model. Drawings from the same model as the renders: Drawings come from your CAD.
  • D5 Render. What it hands over: Real-time renders and video of your model. Drawings from the same model as the renders: Drawings come from your CAD.
  • Vizcom. What it hands over: Renders and 3D models from a sketch. Drawings from the same model as the renders: No.
  • Midjourney. What it hands over: Images from a text prompt. Drawings from the same model as the renders: No.
  • Adobe Firefly. What it hands over: Artwork for graphic panels. Drawings from the same model as the renders: Not applicable.

Run the builder test yourself

Write the brief the way you would brief a stand designer. Paste it word for word into every tool. Here is a sample.

"6 x 6 m island stand, open on all four sides, 4 m height limit, for a fictional acoustic-panel maker. A closed meeting room for four people, 2 m2 of lockable storage, a 4 m demo wall, a counter with two stools. Brand colors #1E3A5F and #E8E4DA; logo supplied as SVG."

Place the stand in a hall whose every size you know. A single-level hall of 60 x 40 m works, with four 2.4 m exits, a 4 m loading door, two 0.6 m columns and 6 m of clear height. Ask each tool for three renders, a dimensioned plan, two elevations and graphic sizes for the demo wall and fascia.

Remove the tool names and send each package to two stand builders. Ask whether they could quote from it, yes or no. Ask which checklist items are missing, and how many hours of extra drawing they would need first.

Then measure render-to-drawing consistency. Take the stand's height, counter length and meeting-room size from each render and check them against the plan. Mark each tool from 0 to 5 on concept quality, scale and consistency, drawing completeness, the builders' answer and time. A 5 means quotable as delivered, and a 3 means quotable after under two hours of drawing. A 1 means ideas only, and a 0 means not attempted. Run each generative tool three times from a fresh session and keep the middle run.

Who does what

Use concept tools for ideas. Use a one-source tool for the render and the drawings the builder prices. When the client approves renders drawn from the same model the builder quotes, the builder prices what the client saw.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI design an exhibition stand?

AI can propose a stand from a prompt and render it in seconds. Whether the design is usable depends on the drawing package. That means a dimensioned plan, elevations, heights, materials, graphic sizes, power and rigging. Choose a tool that makes drawings from the same model as the renders.

Can I export an AI booth design to CAD?

Only from tools that build geometry. Image generators export pictures. Model-based chains export from the modeling app. Monet exports DWG, DXF, PDF, JPG and GLB from the same to-scale model as its renders, so the files open in a builder's own CAD.

Are AI-generated graphics good enough to print on a stand?

Sometimes. Large panels need enough resolution at full print size, correct brand colors and a clean logo. Generative tools do not always deliver these. Ask the printer for their file specification. Then check the terms for commercial use before you send the artwork.

Do stand builders accept AI renders?

A render shows a builder the intent, but it is not enough to quote from. Builders price from dimensioned plans and elevations with materials and finishes named. If your tool only makes images, budget drawing time before you ask for prices.

To run the builder test on your next stand, start a free Monet trial and send the drawings it exports to your own builder for a quote.
